Because of the ridiculous Wisconsin cold snap in January, we waited to shoot their session until the weather warmed up.  Well, who would have guessed that on the day we rescheduled their session for the bitter Wisconsin cold weather returned with a vengence.   Amy and Eric were extremely brave to venture out with the windchill near 1 degrees Saturday, but we had so much fun!  I love to shoot engagement sessions because they are such a great way for us to get to know our clients. 

My session with Amy and Eric was a perfect example.  We were laughing the whole way through it,  jaywalking, and waiting for random guy’s singing break to be over so we could have the historic steps of Oshkosh Water’s Library and the sidestreets all to ourselves.  Some of my favorite moments of the day came when we ventured into the library to warm up.   A specially big thank you to the library staff for granting permission for us to take pictures inside the Water’s Library, in Downtown Oshkosh;   What a beautiful building and to think we had it all to ourselves.   Finally, to cap things off,  we popped into the New Moon Cafe to warm up with a cup of Jo!    Amy and Eric, we cannot wait to capture your wedding this Fall at the beautiful Heidel House Resort on Green Lake.   I know it is going to be amazing!

To keep the cold at bay, we started out inside their beautiful home.  And right away, I could tell Daisy was going to be the star of the show…  (she is sooo sweet!)

Today we have for you the sweet evening Heritage Hill Historical Park wedding of Trisha and Cory.   These two got the most perfect day, some of the most vivid and brightest blue skies we’ve seen.    They chose to do a First Look, which you know we love.  It’s always a special moment when a bride and groom see each other for the first time and it fit them because they wanted to do all their pictures before the wedding as they had to head off to their reception right after the ceremony.    The sweetest part of their wedding were the personal touches these two infused into their day and reception.    It’s what I love about these two.  From the guys wearing seriously cool Chuck Taylors, to their ”favorite movies” themed centerpieces, the PEZ thank you favors and more all capped off by the Grandest Imperial March a page right out of Star Wars complete with light sabers.    Trisha and Cory this day was perfectly you!

We had the incredible honor to capture Amanda and Ray’s wedding.  Amanda is the Assistant Coach of the Green Bay UW Phoenix Women’s Basketball team and Ray a pro golfer.  Their sports careers keep them incredibly busy and when the sport schedules hit, they find they are often on the road in different cities , but seeing them together, you can tell their love is not bound by any distance.

Amanda  and Ray married at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in DePere, followed by a great reception at The Woods, golf club.    On our way out, we stopped at the picturesque Green Bay Country Club, where Ray was the resident golf pro in years past.    The best part, the crew there had a golf cart prepared just for them.   As they drove off down the path, none could miss the rattling clank, clink, clank … of the “Just Married” soda cans trailing behind.

I’m thrilled to bring you the sweet wedding of Jamie and Jeff at The Marq in De Pere, Wisconsin.   This wedding was so full…. full of love, full of laughter,  and full of absolutely beautiful moments.     Jamie is exquisite, elegant and though the skies were filled with grey rain clouds..her beaming smile she made the day shine.

Sunday, we woke early to host breakfast for my parents who stayed with our girls while we were working.  (Let me clarify, Dan woke early to make breakfast.  I woke when the smell of coffee and waffles crept upstairs and my stomach growled loud enough to wake me.   He makes the best waffles.) O.k. here is where I wish I could hit the PAUSE, REWIND button.    It was Father’s day and he was making breakfast — How wrong is that?!   For real, Amy!

While I can’t rewind a major out-take like this, I can still surprise him with breakfast in bed on a day when he is least expecting it.   Dan, you are an incredible Dad to our girls and a wonderful husband.   Thank you for being you.  Love you  always!
